Our classic Tuscan tour takes us to the heart of Tuscany, around Siena, where everything looks exactly like in the movies and pictures! Green rolling hills, cypresses everywhere, lonely stone houses on top of the hills and of course excellent pasta, ice cream and coffee. Our accommodation will be in a high-quality farmhouse not far from Siena, giving us the opportunity to explore the area in all directions, which we believe is the most authentic Tuscan countryside.

The tour takes place at the same time as a challenge tour In the heart of Tuscany in the spring, where you can bike more distances and higher levels, so if what this tour offers is not enough for you, sign up for it! We will be at the same time and live in the same accommodation, but the tours will be led by a separate tour guide. Since the two tours take place at the same time, it is also possible to sign up for one, but do a more difficult tour one day at a time!

The journey out to the location and home is done by a minibus. The transportation at the location is also by a minibus.

Application, payment

To apply, fill out the application form (on the right, on mobile in the middle or the bottom of the page). When applying, you don’t have to pay while filling out the form, you only need to enter some data (be careful, the form is several pages long!). If you applied correctly, you should receive an automatic email of your application! The advance payment request will be sent to the email address you provided when it becomes clear in early 2022 whether the tour can take place due to the COVID situation.

What can I do if there are have no spots available?

If the tour is full, but you specifically want to come on this tour, please let us know because you may be put on a waiting list, or if there is a lot of interest and there are many people on the waiting list, we can start another trip at the same time. Contact us here!

About the tour

The real, genuine Tuscany, just like you see in the movies. The tours lead through the most beautiful Tuscan countryside, ancient Etruscan and medieval towns, olive and fir trees line the road, farms spread out on the tops of distant hills, a cavalcade of a thousand colors and scents, winding asphalt strips accompany you! As is usual in Tuscany, you often have to climb the slopes to get to the towns, but it’s worth it, because picturesque views and a delightful atmosphere greet you everywhere! We will see the Chianti region, the Orcia and Merse river valleys, the Crete Senesi, and we will also visit the classic small towns of the interior.

Bicycle

We provide the rental of a standard bicycle, so you don’t have to pay extra. Of course you can bring your own, and we’re happy to do that, but the bike we provide is well equipped and very comfortable. Read on to find out what kind of bike we provide and what to look out for if you bring your own!

You can also rent an e-bike. Renting ebikes is not included in the price of the tour, but we offer them at a discount than if you rent them elsewhere). An ebike is a bicycle that is powered by an electric motor. It can be adjusted in several steps, so you can easily negotiate even the steepest climbs. Ebikes are very useful, as even those who don’t cycle much or don’t want to exert themselves due to their age or health can take part in the tour.

Difficulty

This Tuscan tour is a bit more difficult than average, 3/5 on a scale of 5, sometimes. The daily km is average but since it is the most hilly region of Tuscany, the daily elevations are a bit higher than average (600m – 1200m). The routes have been designed to avoid the biggest climbs and the length is not too demanding. The hike can be completed with an average athletic physique, but if you are less athletic, but have a strong mind and perseverance, you can complete it.
On the tour, we stop a lot, rest, look around, eat, we don’t rush, we wait for those who are lagging behind, and the tour guides help us. We always indicate the specific level for the specific day. For those who don’t have enough, we recommend our challenge tours (Tuscany, Dolomites), where we go more often with higher levels.
