Our series:
- How to choose a BH road bike?
- Which BH ebike is worth buying?
The manufacturer divides the road segment of the BH bicycles into 5 + 1 levels.
Top bikes for competition:
1. Aerolight – aero
2. Ultralight – aero and climbing,
Endurance
3. RS1 – aero and endurance.
4. SL1 – climbing and endurance,
Entry model
5. Quartz – endurance,
Time trial and triathlon
+1 for Aero TT
Let’s examine which one can do what and why and who should buy the given model.

Aerolight
BH’s top road bike. It’s a dedicated aero bike, so only aerodynamics matter. But it’s also extremely light compared to an aero bike (7.2 – 8.4 kg, depending on equipment). Here’s a little explanation: Modern carbon aero bikes are generally not as light as we think. Or at least there are some that are lighter.
There are several reasons for this. On the one hand, the design of aerodynamic tubes is material-intensive, which is why even the best carbon aero bikes are heavier than the average top carbon bike. They are usually over 8 kg. On the other hand, aero bikes with low air resistance are mostly designed for flat terrain, climbing with them is not easy and not worth it, so reducing weight is not that important, not such a significant aspect. Of course, they are not heavy. On the other hand, based on the laws of physics, it is not worth building a very light bike, because in time trials and TT races, weight is not the main thing that matters, but air resistance (See, for example, the weight of sprinters.)

The Aerolight is available in three colors, five sizes, and four levels. Custom color options are available for higher levels (free of charge). BH doesn’t skimp on the wheels either, with the higher levels featuring expensive and very good carbon wheels.
For Whom? This bike should be bought by someone who rides a lot on flat terrain, small hills, loves very fast glide, speed and high performance. Or goes to TT and triathlon competitions.

Ultralight
The Ultralight is the direct sibling of the Aerolight. They are equally high-level, practically occupying the throne of the BH road segment together. Only the Ultralight is lighter, more flexible in its scope of use, and in line with the modern era, it is a multi-purpose aero and climbing bike in one.
This is shown by the lower weight (mostly under 8 kg with almost all equipment, the lightest version is 7.2 kg). The 2025 model of the Ultralight has become even heavier than the 2023, as it has received the aero features typical of the Aerolight, such as the fork design and the whole thing has become much more aerodynamic, so the frame has also become heavier. Let’s not expect a big weight gain.

The bike is a particularly good mule: it climbs excellently, its geometry is very snappy and at high speeds it is noticeably fast and aerodynamic. The geometry is particularly “sharp”, bendy, and requires “going”. We also wrote a separate test about the bike, which you can read here. The carbon is the best material on the market (T1100), the colors are beautiful, it is available in various configurations, all models with an electric kit. BH does not skimp on the wheels here either, they even provide carbon wheels for the Ulterga version.
For Whom? This bike should be bought by those who don’t want compromises, who want a particularly “sharp”, fast and generally usable road bike at a very good price, who like hard, fast geometry. Who likes to climb and go fast on a bike.

RS1
The RS1 is the third level of the BH road segment, the leader in the fast endurance category. The love child of Aerolight and Ultralight, cheaper and with “loose” geo. It has strong aerodynamic characteristics, but at the same time it provides a very comfortable geometry. No coincidence! This level is more about comfort, distances, and fun, not about racing. It is designed for those who do not want to suffer with top-level, race-geometry bikes, but want a very good general and comfortable bike that they would use for long distances.

Direct steering, good feedback from the roads and a very fast bike.
It’s a particularly good buy in terms of price-value, as all equipment is equipped with an electronic kit, available between 1.3 – 2 million, the top level is Ultegra 12sp di2, the bottom is 105 di2.
We tested the bike ourselves in Spain, so we have first-hand information about it. We rode it for 700 km in the Canary Islands with an altitude of 15,000 meters, during which we got to know a very handy, well-controlled bike. It was especially fast on the descents, noticeably very aero, but it also loved the climbs, it didn’t get confused. The power went straight through, the 105 di2 did its job without a word. We didn’t get tired on the 100-120 km a day.

The wiring is semi-hidden, which gives the bike a clean and cable-free look, but doesn’t make assembly difficult. It is sold in three colors and 4 trim levels.
For Whom? We recommend this bike to those who are not primarily looking for racing geometry, but are satisfied with more comfortable geometry, but at the same time want a demanding, very good carbon, general bike with an excellent price-performance ratio. The price is very good, despite its capabilities, it brings values above the average level of the market. You can get it at a good price.
SL1
We would think that the SL1 is the “fourth grade” category, but we couldn’t be more wrong! The SL1 clearly has the know-how of its big brothers. A comfortable, stiff, fast and aerodynamic bike. Even though we are talking about level 4, the SL1 is barely behind its big brothers in both weight and knowledge. In fact, it is an endurance, comfortable, specifically climbing bike. It is characterized by a great price-performance ratio.

The SL1 frame is made from Toray carbon and uses the same HCIM (Hollow Core Internal Moulding) technology found in BH’s top-of-the-range frames. The carbon fiber arrangement results in a stiff, lightweight frame that weighs 1050 grams in a medium size (the Ultralight frame is barely lighter!) The rear triangle was designed to be responsive. A single piece of carbon, designed with a special seat tube that sensitively transmits the rider’s pedaling power. It allows for a 30mm tire width clearance.
The wiring is semi-hidden, which gives the bike a clean and cable-free look, but doesn’t make assembly difficult. The wheel comes with a Quick Lever, which is completely hidden and easy to use. Three colors, five sizes, 3 versions.

The very good quality comes with a great price, even with the most advanced equipment (105 di2) it is under 1 million, with the manual CUES it is 700 thousand forints. The “heaviest” version is under 9 kg, the lightest 8 kg!
For Whom? The SL1 is for those who want a versatile, minimalist touring bike that also does well in the mountains. We recommend it to cyclists who want to enjoy the road and the rides and don’t want the biggest and most expensive equipment.
Quartz
The Quartz product line is perfect for those who want to enter the world of road cycling without breaking the bank financially, while still maintaining the values of comfort, dynamism and freedom.

For Whom? We also recommend it to those who are just starting out on their road trips and don’t want to spend a lot on a bike. Both versions are available for under 500 thousand forints.
Aero TT
The Aero TT is a very special, unique bike. Since the Aero TT is designed for time trialists or triathletes, we recommend it to them.
The unique appearance of TT bikes is governed by aerodynamics, everything is subject to this. The bikes are made with special techniques, special materials and are designed to achieve the highest possible speed.
The BH Aero TT is very spectacular and beautiful, and it’s also very fast.
